Emergencies Act Court Challenge by the Canadian Constitution Foundation

A generous anonymous donor will match your donation dollar for dollar to a maximum of $25,000. The only catch? Your donation must be received in July in order to qualify for this matching donation.

Joël Lightbound: Unexpected Courage From Inside the Liberal Caucus

As more and more nations around the globe drop all COVID restrictions, Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government insists on doubling down on measures that are proven failures. Kudos to Joël Lightbound for calling Trudeau out on this.

Erin O’Toole Blames Everyone But Himself Right to the Bitter End

My hope and prayer is that a man or woman of integrity will step up to the plate and accept the daunting challenge ahead. My fervent prayer is that individual embraces the concept of extreme ownership because it’s inspiring to engage with a leader who has your back, no matter what, and gives you all the tools you need to win.

Promise Made Promise Broken: The Conservative Party’s Election Expense Rebate Clawback Debacle

My research into the Elections Canada Rebate uncovered several inconvenient and deeply problematic truths about how the Conservative Party fights elections:

1. They make almost no attempt to win almost 70% of the seats in Quebec
2. Over 70 seats across Canada are uncontested by the Conservative Party
3. Of the 50 CPC candidates who spent less than $25,000 during Election 2019, only one candidate emerged victorious (and that riding could run a dead dog as its candidate and still win)

Erin O’Toole: Your Hypocrisy is Showing

“Erin O’Toole is outraged that anyone would accept donations from this individual and will be looking into the matter,” cried Cory Hann, the Party’s communications director.

Mr. O’Toole’s outrage aside, it seems pretty clear the new leader of the Conservative Party leader leaked the information and then pounced on the ‘opportunity’ to ‘cleanse the Party’ prior to its upcoming policy convention.

Andrew Scheer Shoots Himself in the Face… Again

Hot on the heels of the Yasmin Ratansi scandal where the now-former Liberal MP hired her sister and lied about it, we learn Andrew Scheer stole a page from the Liberal Entitlement Handbook and took it to heart.

Yasmin Ratansi: Just Another Ethically-Challenged Liberal MP

What is it with Liberal Members of Parliament?  Do they honestly believe the rules don’t apply to them? That’s the question at the top of my mind after news broke that Yasmin Ratansi, Member of Parliament for Don Valley East, hired her sister, Zeenat Khatri, and lied about it.

Did NDP Candidate Dan Coulter Just Make Electoral History in Chilliwack, BC?

Congratulations to Dan Coulter, who made provincial electoral history as the first NDP candidate ever elected in the provincial riding of Chilliwack, British Columbia.

The last time Chilliwack voted for anyone but a conservative candidate, either federally or provincially, was 1968.

Jagmeet Singh: Justin Trudeau’s Useful Idiot

Jagmeet Singh claims he wants to get to the bottom of the WE Scandal, but he refused to support the Conservative motion to strike a committee specifically devoted to achieving that goal.

Keep telling yourself that, Jagmeet. If you repeat the lie long enough, even you may eventually believe it.

Haldimand—Norfolk Nomination: Another Unforced Error by the Conservative Party of Canada?

We’re half-way through October, and two unforced errors by the Conservative Party brass are already driving loyal Party members out the door.
1. James Dodds’ decision to break Erin O’Toole’s campaign promise to pay back money clawed back after the 2019 federal election
2. The Party’s decision to prevent anyone from challenging Dr. Leslyn Lewis for the nomination in Haldimand—Norfolk
Both decisions are profoundly stupid and short-sighted.

CPC Election Rebate Clawback: Three Lessons Learned by a Deep Dive into the Data

This research opened my eyes to three key facts about missing funds from the CPC’s Election Expense Rebate Clawback and Conservative Party’s overall election campaign spending.

1. The missing $4.5 million in Elections Canada Rebates isn’t missing at all
2. The CPC does not bother to fight an election campaign in over 70 Electoral Districts
3. On average, CPC EDAs spend 50% or less of their Elections Canada spending cap

Will the Real Leader of the Conservative Party Please Stand Up?

Question: Who controls the Conservative Party of Canada?

Answer: He who controls the bank account controls the Party.

Erin O’Toole does not control the Party’s bank account.

James Dodds, the man who does, refuses to honour Erin O’Toole’s leadership campaign promise to Party members.

Bill Blair: Promoted to his Level of Incompetence?

Setting the issue of firearms aside for the moment, it’s clear through his repeated failures in every aspect of the Public Safety portfolio that Minister Bill Blair was promoted to his level of incompetence a long time ago.

Erin O’Toole: When Will You Keep Your Promise to End the Election Expenses Clawback?

I ask this not because I believe Erin O’Toole is not on the right track (he is), but because Conservative EDAs deserve to know when they can expect reimbursement for the tens of thousands of dollars the Conservative Party withheld from their Elections Canada rebate after the 2019 federal election.

Any Electoral District Association (EDA) that didn’t support O’Toole’s leadership bid will probably change their tune the moment a cheque for $30,000 lands in their mailbox.

Will BC Premier John Horgan Call an Early Election?

Is John Horgan a man of his word?

Will he honour his signed commitment to all British Columbians?

The answer to both questions may ultimately be “No” but that answer likely won’t matter to the majority of voters if Horgan does call a snap election this fall, as is widely speculated.

I think New Brunswick’s provincial election results dangle a carrot in front of John Horgan that’s simply too enticing for him to resist.

Raj Grewal: Just Another Ethically-Challenged Liberal MP?

Raj Grewal, an ethically-challenged Liberal (and former MP for Brampton East) is facing criminal charges for fraud and breach of trust.

Given what we know about Justin Trudeau’s repeated ethics violations (as well as those of his cabinet colleagues), it’s no surprise that another former member of Team Trudeau is just as ethically-challenged as the Prime Minister.

Justin Trudeau’s WE Apology is Meaningless – Just Like all His Others

When is an apology meaningless? When it comes from the mouth of a Trudeau. Saying you are sorry, when not followed by an immediate change of heart and behaviour, is meaningless drivel designed for one reason only – to change the channel on the news cycle.

Liberal MP Marwan Tabbara Charged with Assault, Break and Enter

Marwan Tabbara didn’t resigned from the Liberal caucus when the criminal charges against him became public knowledge. He vows to stay on as a Member of Parliament, though his actions show a profound lack of integrity – an element most consider essential to the character of an elected official.

Trudeau Hypocrisy #737 – “Carbon Offsets”

This week we learned our condescending Prime Minister uses 2 airplanes to criss-cross the nation during the 2019 election campaign. Worse, we learned he did the same thing in 2015.

SNC Lavalin Always About Votes, Not Jobs

Despite the rhetoric spewing from the Prime Minister and everyone in his office, the SNC-Lavalin scandal was always about votes, not jobs.

So why did Prime Minister Justin Trudeau bury Criminal Code amendments designed to favour SNC-Lavalin deep in the bowels of the budget bill?

Why did he and his minions pressure Jody Wilson-Reybould repeatedly over four months to use this new amendment to benefit SNC-Lavalin?

Baby Unicorn Asks Trudeau Again

“We’re making polluters pay and giving that money back to Canadians.” How does this wealth transfer solve the environmental issue?

Second Liberal Minister Resigns Trudeau Cabinet

A second Trudeau Government Liberal, Minister Jane Philpott, just blew up Trudeau’s bunker. Her resignation letter is a scathing indictment of how our #FakeFeminist Prime Minister deals with women, implying Trudeau expects women to do what they’re told, not the right thing.

Why #FakeFeminist Justin Trudeau Must Not Resign

While it makes for great political theatre, I doubt even Andrew Scheer seriously wants Trudeau to resign. I think the plan is to force Trudeau to double down on his position, no matter the cost to himself or the Liberal Party of Canada.

One of these is a weasel…

The other is a rodent-killing mammal. Can you tell which is which?   Save Save

Justin Trudeau’s Evidence-Based Policy on Guns?

Evidence. Facts. It doesn’t matter who comes up with a good idea, all that matters is the idea works, right?

Fantastic!

If only Justin Trudeau believed a word spewing out of his own mouth.

Asking a Question in English is an Attack on French Language Rights

I had no intention of revisiting this topic but as I wandered through the snow outside my mountain home I realized I missed the most important point of what Justin Trudeau said. His first thought was not to say, ‘Gee,…

Justin Trudeau: Inclusive Really Means to Exclude

Justin Trudeau is all about open, inclusive government, or so he claims at every opportunity. On January 17th his commitment to inclusiveness revealed itself for what it really is, one more political affectation. On January 17, at a town hall…

Justin Trudeau’s Hypocrisy on “Open Government”

Our very own Shiny Pony, otherwise known as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, ran on an election platform that promised open government.  He would bring in a new era of openness and transparency in government and allow Canadians to have their…
