Hate Speech

Should We Amend Hate Speech Laws to Protect Police Officers?

Adding police officers as a protected identifiable group under Canada’s hate speech laws will only make matters worse. It our right to criticise those who are granted power over the rest of us. To strip that right away from us because some police officers don’t want to be criticised is a wrong-headed approach.

Loki Hulgaard: Firearms Charges Dropped in exchange for guilty plea and wrist slap

Twelve firearms-related criminal charges were dropped when Loki Hulgaard, born Brendan Stanley Dell, pled guilty to wilfully promoting hatred and contravening the conditions of his firearm licence on Thursday, October 22, 2020.

“White Race” Advocate Loki Hulgaard’s Legal Woes Continue

Now that his lawyer, Mike Gilchrist, has quit his case, Loki Hulgaard is attempting to use his lack of legal counsel to get his guilty plea set aside.

Firearm Licence Holders: Is a Political Beliefs Test Next?

A political beliefs test for gun owners may be next if Germany’s Interior Minister gets his way, courtesy of a lunatic with a gun and another hate-filled internet manifesto.

Once a gun owner beliefs test implemented there, you can bet it will come to Canada next, courtesy of Loki Hulgaard’s Racist Manifesto or another one like it.

Another Racist Manifesto, This Time From a Licenced Canadian Gun Owner

Political activists use Hulgaard’s criminal actions with guns to tar millions of ordinary Canadians with Hulgaard’s racist ideas. They don’t ask why RCMP issued Hulgaard his firearms licence in the first place. They use Hulgaard’s firearm ownership as “proof” all gun owners are murderous racists waiting for the “race war” to begin.

Are you offended by something I said? Get over it already.

The problem with some folks is they can’t accept the fact an opinion exists of which they don’t approve. The problem with politicians is they feel compelled to pander to the people who cannot accept another’s point of view. Combine…

Arthur Topham’s Continuing Legal Battle for his Right to Freedom of Speech

As I’ve written many times before Quesnel, BC, resident Arthur Topham is embroiled in a battle for his Right to Freedom of Speech. Those who dislike what Arthur has to say used both Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights…

Canadian Human Rights Tribunal’s 100% Conviction Rate is No Surprise

Since 1978 the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal had a 100% conviction rate for cases brought before the Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) under Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act. This perfect conviction rate is hardly a surprise given…

Thought Police Compare Publisher with Child Pornographers and Sexual Predators

The Arthur Topham criminal “hate speech” case here in British Columbia continues to leave me scratching my head in amazement that we actually pay Crown Prosecutors good money to act like such idiots.  I’m specifically talking about Quesnel Crown Counsel…

Why Marc Lemire Must Challenge Constitutionality of A Law That May Be Repealed

Bill C-304 History Brian Storseth introduced his Private Member’s Bill C-304 to repeal Section 13 (and its resultant penalty clause in Section 54) of the Canadian Human Rights Act on September 30, 2011. On June 6, 2012 Parliament Repealed Section…

Why so-called “Hate Speech” laws can never work

There is a very simple reason why “hate speech” laws do not and can not work.  You simply cannot “ban” an emotion, any more than gun grabbers can ban stupid people.  You cannot legislate away stupidity, nor can you legislate…

Arthur Topham’s Legal Woes Continue for Daring to use his Right to Freedom of Speech

From the beginning Arthur Topham’s case puzzled me. Charging Mr. Topham with “wilfully promoting hatred” under Section 319(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada seemed excessive given he already faces charges under Section 13(1) of the Canadian Human Rights Act….
